Mabï Tea’s story began over 200 years ago with Mauby, an indigenous Caribbean drink made from the bark of the Mauby tree, enjoyed by those seeking refreshment under the tropical sun. In the late 1990s, Dr. Marie Roberte Laurent, a naturopathic doctor, revived her mother’s teachings and founded Belzeb, a company focused on natural teas and oils. In 2018, after tasting Mauby in Haiti, Erica and Jerry were inspired to share this tradition, launching Mabï Artisanal Tea blends. Today, Mabï Tea combines Dr. Laurent’s blends, mauby bark, and fruits into signature cold brew herbal teas. The company is built on Purpose, People, and Product, promoting wellness, supporting local communities—such as partnering with a women-led Haitian cooperative—and celebrating Caribbean flavors with low-sugar, nutrient-rich beverages
